John EGGER Obituary

John Michael Egger passed away on March 18, 2024, after a brief bout with pneumonia. Throughout his years, John courageously endured many illnesses that could make daily life extremely difficult for him. Still, that did not stop him from talking with friends and family in a humble manner and putting them at ease with his caring way. As one old friend reflected, "John remembered the small things I'd told him. He cared about my family."

John was born in Spokane on October 4, 1954, to John J. and Mildred "Millie" Egger. As a boy, he attended Saint Thomas Moore and then went on to graduate with the class of '73 at Mead High School. John was a skilled meat cutter and as a young man, he worked at his family's meat business. He moved on with his life from there, living in Spokane for many years before eventually moving to Lakeside Assisted Living Residence in the picturesque town of Winchester, Idaho. Throughout his life, John experienced love, heartache, and sickness. He accepted them all with strength and humility.

John was preceded in death by his parents; and his sister, Donna. John is survived by his brothers and sisters, Wally Egger (Kathy), Bill Egger (Nora), Patti Trueman (Terry), Peggy Clemons (Neil), and Judy Louvier (William). He also leaves behind numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. Also, to that certain unmentioned loved one…please know that John never stopped caring about you. For not one day did you leave his heart.

John's brothers and sisters will hold a private family memorial to reminisce and celebrate his life. They ask for those who loved him to also take a moment for reflection. Donations in his name can be made to the charity of your choice. Finally, a special thanks to John's other family at Lakeside Assisted Living. We deeply appreciate how kind you were to him. Such caring can only come from the heart.
